Anthony Van Arnold, 74, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Anthony was the son of the late Clarence and Nicey Arnold; and was also preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Arnold.
Anthony received his education from Virginia State University, receiving a bachelors in both microbiology and computer science. He was involved in his community and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, having served as a Past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigators.
In his spare time, Anthony enjoyed creating music and co-owned T&T Funk Faktory with his best friend of many years, Eugene Tinsley. Anthony loved to play and sing, and he was extremely talented.
Anthony embraced life with enthusiasm and a zest for adventure. He loved to cruise and see other places. He was always wanting to learn about other cultures and life as it was there.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Debora B. Arnold; his children, Tardra Stout, Rhakeba Arnold, Shawana Arnold, Corey Arnold (Stacy), Tiffany Arnold-Dayas (Alexy), Amber Arnold, Jasmyn Arnold, Brandy Arnold, Miranda Arnold, and Tyler Wilson; his step-children, George Kyle Dennis and Madelaine Dennis; his grandchildren, ShayQuante' Hawley, Niyahna Hawley, Nakira Christmas, Owen Wyatt, Oliver Schirmacher, Naomi Bacon, and Freya Arnold; his siblings, Catherine Murray, Iris Hicks, and Cynthia Diggs (Harris); his sister-in-law, Katreena Arnold; and many extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held prior to the funeral Mass, starting at 11 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
