Anthony “Tony” Dwayne Minter, Sr., 48 of Chester, Virginia, died October 5, 2021. Born and raised in Chesterfield, VA, he was son of the late Robert “Butch” Minter and Elizabeth Meadows Minter. He was employed by Haley Buick GMC Bodyshop in Chesterfield, VA as an Auto Body Refinisher and Artist. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, coach and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially supporting his kids with their athletic pursuits of football, basketball, baseball, softball, cheering or just having a family movie night at home. He was an avid Thomas Dale High School and Hampden Sydney Football fan and Havok Softball fan. He was a friend to all who knew him and never knew a stranger. He was known for his infectious smile and laugh. There can’t be enough said about the impact he had on the lives of so many people, and the family has felt that. His family couldn’t have asked for a better father or husband.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Mary, son, Anthony Jr. “T.J.,” son, Ethan William, daughter, Reese Marie of Chester; a brother, Kevin (Heather); niece, Taylor Haddrill (Jonathan), nephew, Lane Minter (Zoe), niece, Baylie Minter, and great-nephew, Carter Haddrill of Cartersville, VA; sister-in-law, Kelly Schoot (Jamie), nephew, Trevor Schoot of Colonial Heights, VA; niece, Ashley Schoot (Earnest) of St. George, GA; and honorary mother-in-law, Sandra Tolson (Pierce) of Chester, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, VA with Pastor Ron Talley of Hyles Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
