Arbuary Lee Bostic, known to his family and friends as Pete, passed away peacefully at his home in Richmond, VA on July 15, 2011. He was born on June 17, 1928 in Sinks Grove, WVA, the oldest son of William Hugh and Winifred Porterfield Bostic. Pete is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Jim and Ola Cash; his brother, Paul Bostic; sisters-in-law, Betty Wease, Juanita Bostic and Sonja Bostic; and brother-in-law, Larry Cash. He is survived by his lifelong loving wife Laura Jean Bostic of Richmond; daughter, Carol Phillips (Elwood) of Staunton, VA; sons, James â??JBâ?? of Richmond and Rod of Staunton; one special Golden Retriever, Pokie, his grandchildren; Justin and Morgan Fisher, and Zachary and John Bostic all of Staunton; brothers, Jack of St. Albans, WVA, George (Robbie) of Ronceverte, WVA, Bob (Judy) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ronnie (Lettie) of Staunton, VA; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Harry) Marshall of Staunton and Joan Cash of Ronceverte; brothers-in-law, Bobby Wease, of Staunton, Jack Burns (Marlene) of Crofton, MD, and Joe Burns, of Lewisburg, WVA.; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who meant the world to him. Pete retired in 1979 from Smithâ??s Transfer after more than One Million Safe Driving Miles. He enjoyed fishing, camping, following Lee Basketball, and spending time with his family and friends. His house was always open to a friend or family member in need. Pete was a good son, loving husband, great dad, caring brother, and uncle. He was always true to his friends. He volunteered at McGuire VA Hospital serving the veterans as long as his health allowed. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of Chapter 50 DAV. â??Til the very end he loved his countryâ?. Pete was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6415 Irongate Drive, Richmond VA 23234, where a memorial service honoring Pete will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11 AM.
