Ardea Blackmon

Mrs. Ardea De Luca Blackmon, 87, of Hopewell, died Monday, September 20, 2010 at Greenfield Nursing Home, Petersburg. Mrs. Blackmon was born in Udine, Italy and was a long-time resident of Hopewell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Goi and Tina De Luca, and her husband, Joseph Blackmon. Mrs. Blackmon was a retired employee of Safeway and a loyal member of St. James Catholic Church.She is survived by two sons, Allen Blackmon and wife Renee, and Robert Blackmon and wife, Marian; three grandsons, Jeffrey, Mark and David Blackmon and numerous nephews, family and friends. A Rosary Service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with the Rev.
