Aredda Joyce Mitchell

Aredda Joyce Mitchell, 85, of N. Dinwiddie passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born May 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Willard Lee Anderson and Lula Austin Rutter, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ralph Chester Mitchell. For 20 years, Aredda served as church secretary for Western Heights Baptist church until she retired. Not long after, she came out of retirement and served as church secretary for Matoaca Baptist Church for another 10 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother and cherished her time spent with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Danny Ray Mitchell and wife, Patricia, Renee Allred; grandchildren, Britney Anderson and husband, Tyler, Christopher Allred, Jessica Allred; beloved great-grandchild, Molly Renee Powell; and other extended family members and many friends. A private graveside service will be held in Blandford Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Homes.
