Arleen Minor Good

July 11, 1934 — April 20, 2020

Good, Arleen Minor, 85, of Prince George, went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2020. She was born July 11, 1934 in Prince George, Va., the daughter of the late Stephen and Emily Minor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Minor; and her brother, Wilbert Minor. Arleen loved music and dance. She played clarinet in the band and sang in the West End Presbyterian Church choir. Active in the church youth group, she spent many pleasurable afternoons with friends in the Hazelgrove home. Arleen graduated from Hopewell High School in 1952. She then received her B.S. in Home Economics from Bob Jones University in 1957. That same year she was wed to Wayne Good, of Hopewell, Va. She was a dedicated wife and mother, member of West End Presbyterian Church, and a valuable help to her husband in founding the River’s Edge Bible Church in Prince George, Va. She enjoyed directing the choir and playing the organ and piano. Arleen was a gifted educator, teaching piano, kindergarten, elementary, and Sunday school students. An excellent seamstress, she designed and created her own wedding dress, as well as many outfits for her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and gardening and traveled extensively. Arleen and Wayne’s ministry took them from Virginia to Florida, Okinawa Japan, West Virginia, and finally back to Virginia. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Rev. Wayne Good and their children, Sharon McMillan, Raymond Good Jr., and Nathan Good; six grandchildren: Ben McMillan, Heather Mandish, Melissa Beckler, and Stephen, Jordan, and Rebecca Good; and four great-grandchildren: Elena and Paloma McMillan, and Erica and Andrea Mandish.
