Arley Berkley Nichols, 60, of Chesterfield died Friday, March 24, 2017. Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of Dorothy Nichols Riggan and the late William L. Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Annie S. Nichols; one son, Austin R. Nichols (Rachael Hall); one daughter, Alexis N. Nichols; one grandchild, Vela R. Nichols; his mother, Dorothy N. Riggan; brother, William D. Nichols (Diane); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Arley was employed with the Appomattox River Water Authority retiring after many years of service. He was a member of the SCV Camp Dearing Beauregard Camp 1813 and a member of the Mechanized Calvary. He was also a member of Matoaca Christian Fellowship. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Second Presbyterian Church, 419 W. Washington St. Petersburg.
