Arlo Martin (Jack) Kruse, 91, of Richmond, VA, formerly of East Grand Forks, MN died Friday, February 11, 2005. He was born January 26, 1914 in Bray Township, MN to Christopher and Katherine Kruse. He was a 1933 graduate of St. Hillaire High School. He served in the 989th Field Artillery Battalion, U. S. Army, during WW II in Europe. He was married in July 1941 to Valarie Olson Kruse. During the 1950?s he was co-owner of Northwest Trails Bus Lines. He later worked for L. B. Hartz, Triangle Bus Lines, Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the U. S. Postal Service. He was Grandpa and Uncle Jack to many nephews and nieces. He loved to visit with family members to share a good story. He was a life member of the VFW and a former member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of East Grand Forks and Zion Lutheran Church of Thief?s River Falls. He is survived by his wife, Valarie Kruse of Richmond, VA; son, Daniel Kruse and his wife, Mary of Chester, VA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Kruse of Fargo, ND, Jacqueline Greenwald, Heather Rouze and Christopher Kruse all of Chester, VA; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Koskala of Fargo, ND, Carol Schmurr, Stirling and Ainsley Greenwald, and Chloe and Molly Rouze all of Chester, VA. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Christopher, Herman, William, Arnold and John; and four sisters, Adela, Margaret, Ida and Loretta. Funeral services were held in Chester, VA. Burial will be in St. Hillaire, MN Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW or the American Red Cross. The family is being served by J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester, VA and Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, MN. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
