Arnold Walker “Red” Williamson, 77, of Dinwiddie County, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 25, 2017. Born in DeWitt, VA, he was the son of the late Jasper Raymond and Frances Brown Williamson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Williamson. He was a longtime member of Kenwood United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Stone Container, where he worked for 41 years. Arnold was a hardworking man, from farming with his brothers to operating his own saw mill. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reva Reece Williamson; daughters, Tammy Watkins (Keith) of Sutherland, VA, and Vicki Harrison (Atwell) of Disputanta, VA; grandchildren, Adam Watkins (Emily) of Chattanooga, TN, Holly Watkins Allen (Sam) of Emporia, VA, Joshua Harrison and Zachary Harrison of Disputanta, VA, and Ryan Banning of Sutherland, VA; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Henry Watkins; sisters, Dorothy W. Barfield and Elizabeth W. Pinkleton (Franklin); brothers, Rudolph Williamson, Calvin Williamson (Treely), Bernard Williamson (Phyllis), and Alfred Lee Williamson (Georgianna), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
