Arthur Lloyd Brumfield, 78, of Prince George, died Wednesday, August 18, 2004 in MCV Hospital. He was born in Danville, VA and was the son of the late W. A. and Cassie Doss Brumfield. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U. S. Army – Air Force in the Pacific theater as a gunner on a B-29 with 30 missions to his credit. His decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Good Conduct ribbon and the Pacific theater ribbon with two bronze stars. Mr. Brumfield was a retired electronics technician from Defense General Supply Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Herndon Brumfield; son, Douglas A. Brumfield; and two brothers, Morris and Jesse Brumfield. He is survived by his son, Audie H. Brumfield of Prince George; and two sisters, Myrtle Ware and Vera Knight both of Danville, VA. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the VFW.
