Arthur Webb Chappell Jr.

Arthur Webb “A.W.” Chappell, Jr., 78, of Carson, VA, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Webb “Patty” Chappell, Sr. and Pattie B. Butterworth Chappell. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Crump Chappell; two daughters, Pattie Lou Futrell and husband, Wingate, and Mary Susan Hare and husband, Dennis; two grandchildren, Bridgette Mabie and husband, Kyle, and James Douglas “Jay” Moore, Jr. and Samantha, and six great-grandchildren. A.W. was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and the FBI National Academy. He was a retired Virginia ABC Investigator. The family would like to thank his faithful caregivers, Gertrude “Trudy” Harvell, Veronica “Vern” Chambliss, Gwen Knight, Nicole Chambliss and others. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, North Dinwiddie, VA 23803. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
