Arthur Gray Stallings

May 18, 1929 — September 3, 2012

Arthur Gray Stallings, 83, of Prince George, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012. Born in Sussex County, he was the son of the late Walter and Annie Mae Rideout Stallings. Mr. Stallings was a U. S. Army veteran and a retired farmer. He was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church, a member of the Carson Ruritan Club, Edwards Lodge No. 308 A.F. & A.M., and had many years of service on the Carson Volunteer Fire Department. In addition, he served on the Prince George County Board of Zoning Appeals for many years. He is survived by two sisters, Fannie Riley of Petersburg and Pearl Reilly of New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Edna Cain and her family. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 10th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 19312 Templeton Road, Carson, VA. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Masonic Funeral Rites beginning at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem UMC Missions Fund, 13701 Fairwood Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
