Audrey O’Berry Boswell, a longtime resident of Matoaca, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at her residence. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Ethel Rose O’Berry. Mrs. Boswell was a lifetime member of First Assembly of God. She loved entertaining in her home and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Christmas season was her favorite time of the year and she was well-known for her delicious Christmas cookies. She was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan and had an extensive collection of Redskins clothing and memorabilia. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death by her brother, James Earl O’Berry and her sister, Frances Freda Flood. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Horace I. Boswell; her children, Gwen Ellen Davis and husband, Tom, Paul I. Boswell and wife, Mary, and Janet O’Berry Boswell; grandchildren, Ann Marie Taylor and husband, H. L. “Buddy”, John I. Boswell, Sarah E. Davis, Matthew S. Boswell and fiancé, Blythe Hall, Joshua H. Davis, and Samantha N. Marion and husband, Tony; great-grandchildren, H. L. “Trey” Taylor, Brooke M. Davis, Emma R. Davis, Tabitha M. Taylor, Benjamin L. Taylor, and Lane I. Marion; brother, Larry D. O’Berry and wife, Karen; brother-in-law, Leroy Flood, a large extended family and many friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 1st at First Assembly of God with Pastor Dwayne Walker officiating. The committal service and entombment will be private. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the residence. Friends are invited to view Mrs. Boswell from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son.
