Audrey Walsh Elwell

Audrey Walsh Wright Elwell, 92, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Ellen Walsh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard G. Elwell; and two sisters, Margaret Downey and Rita Bocholtz. Mrs. Elwell was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg since 1945. She enjoyed participating in a variety of ministries at her church. Her passion in life was family and loved them dearly. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Audrey is survived by her daughter Peggy Williamson and her husband, Randy; two sons, James Wright and John Elwell and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Randy Williamson, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Angela Evans and her husband, Greg, and JP Elwell and his wife, Megan; great-grandchildren, Kasey Williamson, Madelynn and Tanner Evans, and Preston Elwell; sister, Helen Hampton; and niece, Edna Laurino and her husband, Paul. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington St. Petersburg, VA 23803. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Rd.
