Avalon Butler Marmol, 89, of Hopewell, died December 16, 2010 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Burrowsville, Virginia. Mrs. Marmol was a member of First Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a volunteer with John Randolph Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Erma Taylor Butler, her husband, Antonio â??Joeâ? Marmol, Jr., a daughter, Madalon Marmol Lane, a sister, Freda Chiarky, two brothers, Elwood Butler and Milton Butler. Surviving are her daughter, Annette Marmol Anderson and husband Marvin of Hopewell, grandaughter, Pennie Lane Taylor and husband Brian , three great grandchildren, Wade , Zane and Nathan Taylor all of Spring Grove, a son-in-law, Bob Lane of Hopewell, a brother, Jack Bulter and wife Betty of Hopewell and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Butler of Dewitt. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 in Bermuda Memorial Park at 1:00pm with her son-in-law, Bob Lane, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at First Christian Church, 203 N.11th Ave. Hopewell, Virginia 23860. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
