Avis Bryant

Mrs. Avis McGhee Bryant, 88, of Hopewell, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Bryant, the co-owner of Cavalier Service Store, was a member of First Christian Church of Hopewell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer T. and Sallie Kirk McGhee and husband, Wesley Bryant. Survivors include a sister, Virginia M. Smith of Hopewell, a brother, Donald L. McGhee and wife, Lala, of Dover, Delaware and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son with Bob Lane, minister of First Christian Church, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
