B. Lowe

Winston Lowe, age 82, of Elberon, VA, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home. A lifelong resident of Surry County, he was the son of the late Arthur Clayton and Bessie Bailey Lowe. He was a lifelong member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church. After farming for many years, he worked for several years as a park ranger. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed fishing and listening to bluegrass music. Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carrie Henry Lowe; brothers, A.C. Lowe, Jr. and David Lowe; sisters, Edith Slaterbeck, Grace Pittman, Florence Jones, Elanor Berryman and Audrey Bulls. He is survived by his daughters, Shelle L. Switzer and Georgette M. Wells; son, James â??Buddyâ? Smith; grandchildren, Logan Causby, Landon Wells and Jenna Wells; a sister, Marjorie Jarrett; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31st at the Wakefield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church with The Reverend Cliff Fritzinger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
