Bailey Reed Moneymaker

Bailey Reed Moneymaker, 92, of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Born in Clifton Forge, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Alexander Moneymaker and Lena Rivers Crawford Moneymaker. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Ellen Purdy; his late wife, Elaine Smith Moneymaker; two brothers, Clarence Moneymaker and Lewis Moneymaker; two sisters, Virginia “Gina” Jones and Mary Sue Gotte. Mr. Moneymaker was a WWII Veteran and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Hercules retiring after many years of service. He also enjoyed giving his brothers Joe and Tom a helping hand in the family tree business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed watching old western movies. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Kenny Moneymaker (Patsy); daughter, Wanda Harrison (Herbert); grandchildren, Richard Harrison (Brittney) and Kenny Moneymaker, Jr. (Lauren); five great-grandchildren, Phoenix Harrison, Aryanna Harrison, Jordan Harrison, Cecelia Moneymaker and Landon Moneymaker; four siblings, Joe Moneymaker, Roy Moneymaker, Tom Moneymaker and Frank Moneymaker. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to caregivers, Tracey Seiber and Larry Jones, for the special care they gave to Mr. Moneymaker. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 7th, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow Bermuda Memorial Park.
