Barbara Cochran Barfield

Barbara Cochran Barfield, age 70, a resident of Chester, Virginia went to be with her Lord January 8, 2022, at the John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia from complications of the Covid 19 virus.
She was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina on August 25, 1951, the first child of six to Herbert & Grace Cochran. She married Will Barfield on July 7, 1971, in Petersburg, Virginia. She was a home maker, and soon they had three children, Tracy, Billy, and Robbie. They also opened their hearts and home to many foster children, giving them a safe and loving home.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Robbie) Barfield (Karyn); daughters, Tracy Barfield (Dennis), and Lynn Moore; grandchildren, Gabriella (Gabbie) Barfield, Haley Gartrell (Gary), Nick Gartrell, Deejay Moore, Mackenzie Moore, Austin Moore, Lauren Crawley, & Dylan McLarn; great-grandchildren, Winter Gartrell, Logan Strickland, and Ady Luper; siblings, Libby Croker (Marvin), Patricia (Patty) Padgett, Robert Blake (Debbie), and Theresa Jolly (Wesley); and friend and chosen sister, Jackie Cuneo (Chris).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert & Grace Cochran; husband, William (Will) Barfield; son, William (Billy) Barfield Jr.; brother, William (Herbie) Blake; brother-in-law, Shull Padgett.
A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Wesley Jolly on Wednesday, January 19 at 4 o'clock pm at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester Chapel, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831.
