Barbara Hawthorne Craft

Barbara Hawthorne Craft, 76, of Dundas, VA died October 14, 2016, at Heritage Hall in Blackstone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Blackwell and Louise Reekes Hawthorne. Barbara fought a good fight; she was a 5 time survivor of cancer and 5 strokes. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Curtis N. Craft; their son, Chris H. Craft both of Dundas; and several cousins. The family will have a private burial service on Sunday, October 23rd followed by a Celebration of Her Life from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at her favorite restaurant, Louise’s Southern Comforts, Highway 46, 31155 Christianna Highway, Dundas, about halfway between Blackstone and Alberta. Per her request, dress is to be comfortable and casual. Since she was an avid poker player (Texas Holdem) all poker players who have a club are requested to wear shirts or jackets with their club logo or a shirt with something poker related. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Perseverance Christian Church, 3027 Gigg Road, Kenbridge, VA, 23938 or to Kenbridge Rescue Squad, PO Box 328, Kenbridge, VA, 23944.
