Barbara Ann Flint Davis, 82, was born September 28, 1940, in Hopewell/Prince George, VA. She was predeceased by her parents, William L. Flint and Myrtle M. Lundie. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Gertrude and Elwood Lundie.
She graduated from Petersburg High school in 1957. Barbara worked as a secretary for J.M. Davis Sr., the Manager of Citizens Home Insurance Company in Petersburg, VA, from the age of 16 until Mr. Davis retired and the Company closed.
Barbara married John Maurice Davis, Jr. (J.M.) on July 29, 1973, in Emporia, VA. She was widowed on August 9, 2013.
They had lived in the same home she was raised in until after his death when the VA State College's expansion forced her to move.
She had lived in Colonial Heights, VA, until her death March 27, 2023.
From the time she was a teenager Barbara loved making flower arrangements. Her high school annual mentions this as her hobby. She shared her talent, making hundreds of beautiful arrangements for the graves of many of our ancestors. She was always faithful in sending birthday cards to many of her nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed, as we all have special memories of times spent with Barbara and JM.
JM and Barbara did not have children, but had many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her cousin, Gerald Lundie of Prince George, VA; nephews and nieces Dee Leahman (Vince) of Pinnacle, NC, Catherine L. Thompson (Bob) of Bedford, VA, Gayle L. Saari (Marvin)of Ironwood, MI, Richard D. Leahman (Debbie) of Clearfield, UT, John M. Leahman of Midlothian, VA, Kenny Leahman (Ric) of Northern, VA, William Grimmer (Loretta) of Chesterfield, VA, and Anne G. Temple (Donald) of Crestwood, KY, She was predeceased by her niece, Kay L. Grimmer of Matoacca, VA. She had many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
