Barbara Ann Hammond

Barbara Ann Hammond of Dinwiddie, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2022, surrounded by family. Barbara loved spending time with family and taking care of others. She loved the Lord and was always more than happy to help anyone. She loved going to the beach and listening to the waves, which she called her therapy.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Delores and Billy Smithson. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Hammond; sister, Deborah Osborne; and nephew, Charles Robert Osborne. Barbara is survived by her beloved sister, Anita Walker (Gary). She has two children that love her beyond words and will forever miss her: her daughter, Stacy Lipford and husband, Charles, and her son, Earl Osborne, Jr. She enjoyed spending time with her loving grandchildren, Jessica Henshaw (Jonathan), Christina Lipford (Cory Berry), Amanda Lipford (Dylan Gusti), James Edwards, Kelsie, Owen, Kaden, Caleb Osborne; her great-grandchildren, Carson and Emma Henshaw, Izaiah White, Serenity, Sariyah, Jayden, Ayden Stewart; her niece, Sherry Travis (Wayne); great-niece, Mia Travis; and nephew, Charles Edward Osborne (Audra) were like her own children; her life-long best friends, Earl Osborne, Sr, Carol Ann Davenport, & Teresa Darr will forever miss her.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Rd. Dinwiddie VA 23803. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the funeral home.
