Barbara Ellison Marshall

Barbara Ellison Marshall, 92, of Prince George County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024. Barbara was born at her family home in Chester, Virginia, on February 25, 1931. She was the only child of Julia and Samuel Ellison. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jesse C. Marshall, Sr. She is survived by five children; daughter, Ellie Lenhart (Michael), of Richmond; and sons, Jesse C. Marshall, Jr. (Susie), of Prince George, Chris Marshall (Dee), of South Carolina, Tim Marshall (Amy), of Chester, Matt Marshall (Candace), of Henrico; and grandchildren, Jesse C. Marshall III (Rebecca), Kate Lenhart (Zach Shaffer), Beccah Lenhart, Rebecca Kavanaugh (Myles), Jessica Johnson (Brian), Sam Marshall (Kristen), Emily Vega (Rene), Annie Lenhart, Hannah Marshall, Addison Marshall; and two great-grandchildren; Liam Kavanaugh and Alessandra Vega; along with cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Barbara loved many things in life; the mountains, fishing, gardening, feeding the birds, Jumbles puzzles, the family stew, Christmas Eve gatherings, and cutting the grass on her mower. However, of all of these, her family was her greatest love. She was surrounded by her family at the end of her life.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm, on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm, with service at 2 pm.
