Barbara Lou Mcclenny

Barbara Lou McClenny, 81, of Chester passed away the morning of June 3, 2018 at her home. Born February 11, 1937 in Johnston County, NC to the late Jarvis Vester and Mattie Lucille Evans Pearce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. McClenny; brothers Ashworth Pearce and Freddy Pearce; sisters, Peggy Jones and Sybil Snipes.
Barbara was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She devoted her life to loving her family and her strong Christian faith.
She is survived by sons, Vernie L. Parnell, Jr. (Roberta), Dwight W. Parnell (Patricia), and Dennis R. Parnell (Donna); and daughter, Charlene G. McClenny (Kenny); brothers, Bernie Pearce (Judy) and Rev. Thomas V. Pearce (Lisa); and sister Sylvia Thompson (J.A.); grandchildren Trey King, Tracy Longworth (Ernie), Carrie Parnell, Nicholas Parnell (Allison), Jordan Parnell, and Ciara Lawson (Trip); and beloved canine companion, Charlotte. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son funeral home with the Rev. Steve Flowers, officiating.
