Barbara Ann Mclain

Barbara Ann McLain, 87, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Born in Marion, VA, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Ida Widner Porterfield; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Edward McLain. Mrs. McLain retired from the Petersburg branch of the Virginia Department of Social Services and was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. She is survived by two sons, Mark E. McLain (Lori) and Steven D. McLain (Seung); one step-daughter, Vickie Butler; two grandchildren, Kierson McLain and Hana McLain; and three step-grandsons, James (Jr), Randy, and Bryan Butler and families. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1769 S. Sycamore St., Petersburg, VA 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com
