Barbara Nichols Piner

Barbara Nichols Piner, 75, of Prince George, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Born in Botetourt County and raised in Hopewell, she was the daughter of the late Linford H. and Sarah Lee Hodges Nichols; and was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Wayne Piner, Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Sherie Shurm Nichols. Mrs. Piner was a member of the Hopewell Church of the Brethern and loved going to yard sales and collecting depression aged glass. She enjoyed her work with the Prison Ministry and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mrs. Piner is survived by her daughter, Teresa Piner Wells and husband, Willie; son, Charles Wayne Piner, Jr.; three grandchildren, Wade Hampton Wells, Britney Ann Wells and Jacob Wayne Piner; a great-grandson, Kamdin Wayne Wells; her siblings, Thelma N. Thompson and husband, Ron, Wendell L. Nichols and wife, Shelvia, Maurice W. Nichols and wife, Dolores, Carolyn N. Walker and husband, Jerry and Timothy P. Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
