Barbara Rasmussen Cofield

Barbara Rasmussen Cofield, age 77, of Hopewell, VA, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at her home. In addition to her parents, Mildred Dabney Galante and John Henry Al Rasmussen, Sr., she is preceded in death by brother, John Henry Al Rasmussen; and sister, Joy Marie Downs.

Barbara aka Ms.Barbie, Granny, Mimi, Grandma, was a lifelong resident of Hopewell, VA. She enjoyed gardening and sewing crafts that were one of a kind. She was a loving mother and proud grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barabara spent her early years as a stay at home mom. Later she worked as a Retail Jewelry Specialist at Morton's, Frieman's, and Whitehalls.

She is survived by daughter, Kathryn Quesenberry (James); two sons, Ricky Moon (Michelle) and Jason Moon (Linda); adopted daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Gary Smith; grandchildren, Brice Moon (Morgan), Katelyn Quesenberry, Taylor Ellis (Brian), Victoria Almond (Coty), Dabney Otey (Austin), Abigail Moon, Brandon Quesenberry, Jason Moon, Jr., Layla Smith, and Sophie Moon; great-grandchildren, Adriana, Landon, Lucas, Alexus, Henry, Madelyn, Mason, Lincoln, and Laine; sister, Sue Ellen Hudson; aunt, Littie Nelton; special lifelong friend, Lora Mae Monahan (Terry); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor George Schutte, at 3:00 pm, on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
