Barbara Jean Wells Stephenson

Barbara Jean Wells Stephenson, 71, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, after a long period of declining health. Now with the Lord, she joins her husband of 52 years James Edward “Pete” Stephenson; her brother, Randall Wayne Wells; mother, Edna Gladys Wells; and father, Garland M. “Buster” Wells. She is survived by her sister, Jacquelin Ann Wells Smith (Kenneth); a nephew Michael Jared Smith (Wendy); a niece, Tracey Reneé Smith Barbie (Stephen); grand-nieces, Virginia Grace Barbie and Stella Marie Barbie. She leaves behind two-stepsons, Jeff and Jackie Bearden; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Aylett; nieces, Susan, Cezette, Lori, Kristan, and Hannah. She will be missed by close friends, Judy Wells Edwards, Brenda Griffin Dingas, Brenda Scruggs Edwards, Linda Meikle Anderson, and Barbara Malone Hunt; as well as numerous cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Petersburg chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
