Barbara June Vanepps

Barbara June VanEpps, 82 of Enon VA, passed away June 3 2014. She was born on August 17, 1931 in Belleville NY to the late Allen and Doris Brown. Barbara was raised in upstate New York and was a graduate of Belleville Central School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. She met Paul VanEpps and was married in Belleville NY, on August 25, 1951. They started their adventure as a couple in France, and resided in Illinois, Texas, Florida, New York and finally resided in Virginia in 1968. Barbara was active member of the Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church, and was one of the original teachers at the Bermuda Hundred Preschool. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being around children. She enjoyed camping and traveling and walks in the neighborhood. She also enjoyed having visits from family and friends as their home became a destination point for travelers. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul in 2011 and her sisters Marcia Clark and Carolyn MacVean. Barbara is survived by five children, Robert A. VanEpps and wife Jenny of Panama City, FL. Richard P VanEpps and wife Cathy of Wanyesboro, VA, Sheron J Denoff of Chesterfield, VA, Roger J VanEpps and wife, Danette of Omaha, NE, and Randal B VanEpps and wife Susan of Leesburg, VA; twelve grandchildren Carol (Andy), Christopher, Matthew, Eric (Emily) Laura, Paul (Blair), Phillip (Elena), David, Scott, Amanda, Byron, and Caroline; two great-grandchildren; Edward, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church (2025 Florence Ave, Chester, VA 23836). The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm in the fellowship hall following the service.
