Basil “Pat” Patrick Walker, 93, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on March 8, 2017. He was the son of the late William Earl Walker and Mary Agnes Carney Walker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Alease Walker; and his brother and sister. Pat left Stillwater, New York during WWII and was stationed in Petersburg, VA where he met his loving wife of 66 years Virginia Walker. He was a member of Kenwood United Methodist Church and a longtime member of American Legion Post #2 Petersburg, VA and of The Forty and Eight La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux. In addition, he was a charter member of Sportsmen Hunt Club of Ford, VA, where he served as President and Stewmaster for several years. Pat was a U.S. Navy veteran serving proudly during WWII. Mr. Walker retired from Civil Service at Fort Lee after more than 30 years. He is survived by his son, David Earl Walker and wife, Debbye; a daughter, Jackie Lynne Mingia and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Wesley Mingia and wife, Megan, Taylor Middleton and Alysse Mullarkey; as well as numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A chapel service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park.
