Beatrice Sargent Chase, 89, of Chester passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013. Bea, youngest and the last survivor of seven children, was born on May 18, 1924 to the late David and Dena (Westmoreland) Sargent of Cleveland, GA. Bea is on her way to join her husband, Robert E. Chase, who was been patiently waiting for her to be by his side, and their sons, Jeffrey and Dale. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Bennett, George, and Glenn; and sisters, Bertha, Mary Lou, and Irene. Bea is survived by her daughter, Catherine Chase; son, William Chase and his wife, Amy, and their children, Alexander and Olivia; and Jeffrey’s wife, Lynn and their twin children, Major Matthew Chase and his wife, Lara and their children, Brody and Bryn; and Melissa Chase Peterson and her husband, Pehr and their children, Odyn, Gunnar, Soren, and Signe. Bea was the founder and owner of THE BUSY BEA, a quilting store in Chester, Virginia since 1976. Bea and her daughter, Cathy, have taught craft and quilting classes to thousands of people. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sylvia Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester.
