Beatrice Woodburn Schulz

Beatrice Woodburn Schulz passed away on January 3, 2016 in Hopewell, VA at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schulz Sr.; and her daughter Carolyn Schulz Davidson. Beatrice is survived by her son, Paul Schulz Jr.; sister Hilda Strauss; grandchildren, Mike Davidson, Kristin Davidson Fellows, Erin Schulz Rosenfedlt, Matt Schulz; great-grandchildren, Morgan Davidson, Katie Davidson, Joshua Rosenfeldt, Will Schulz; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was born on December 27, 1916 in Richmond, VA. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and after marriage moved to Hopewell. Beatrice was a life-long member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and gave her time to the Shepherd’s Place in downtown Hopewell for which she received a presidential accommodation from President George W. Bush for her service there. She was a savvy bridge player, and loved gardening and quilting. The family wants to thank the staff and residents of Brighter Living Assisted Living in Hopewell for their loving care and friendship during her last two years, and a special thanks to At Home Care Hospice for providing comfort during her last few weeks. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church 1711 Grant Street Hopewell VA 23860, with interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Chester. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Nazareth Lutheran Church in her honor. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T.
