Belle Gwaltney Warren, 97 of Colonial Heights died Sunday, August 29, 2005. She was the widow of Elliott I. Warren and a native of Smithfield, VA. She was the daughter of the late William Dudley and Sarah Elizabeth Barham Gwaltney. She was a member of Trinity U.M.C. of Petersburg, VA, Girl Scout Leader, Twigg at Southside Regional Medical Center, served as a volunteer during WWII Army Air Forces Air Craft Warning Services and Red Cross Volunteer. She was preceded in death by sisters, Emily G. Stafford, Hunter G. Walton; brothers, Henry O. Gwaltney and William D. Gwaltney. She is survived by her niece, Emily Stafford Peter and husband, ?Barney? B.W. Peter; three great nephews, Braden R. Peter and wife, Cassie, ?Barney? B.W. Peter, II and wife, Shannon, Douglas W. Jackson and wife, Kelly; three great nieces, Kasey Wallace, Lindsey Jackson and Megan Jackson all of Colonial Heights; niece, Anna Belle G. Whitehead and husband, Bill of Courtland, VA; two nephews, Steve Gwaltney and Lucy of Charlottesville, VA and William A. Walton, Jr. and wife, Faye of Richmond, VA. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Mill Swamp Cemetery, Isle of Wight Co., VA with the Rev. Dr. Patricia Meadows officiating.
