Ben Ginsberg, 92, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born in New York City, New York, on April 2, 1917.. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Ida Ginsberg; his brothers, Louis and Ira; and his wife Grace. Ben served in WWII in the Army Air Corps and was selected for pilot training and was honorably discharged in December 1945 at the rank of Sergeant. He met the love of his life, Grace, at a dance hall in California during the war years and they were married for 60 years. Ballroom dancing was a true passion for them. He was a furrier by trade and owned a fur store in Erie, PA. Ben, Grace and daughters moved to Petersburg in 1964 where he remained for 45 years. He owned B&G Vacuums and was affectionately know as Mr. Kirby by his customers. Benâ??s name in Hebrew was Barukh, which means â??blessed oneâ?. Ben was truly a blessed man who lived a long, good life with a loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Colonel (Ret) Al Ginsberg and wife, Cindy of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughters, Myrna Ginsberg Pearson of Midlothian, VA and Myra Ginsberg Myers and husband, Gary of League City, Texas; four grandchildren, Aaron Ginsberg, Arrianne Rodriquez, Holly Myers, and Tammy Pantermuehl; five great grandchildren, Grae Ginsberg, Halle Ginsberg, Gere Ginsberg, Hadyn Rodriquez and Tyler Pantermuehl; sister, Ester Cohen Ginsberg of Nipomo, CA and sister-in-laws, Shirley Ginsberg of Richmond, VA and Nona Ventry of New York City, NY Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 am Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Temple Brith Achim, 314 South Boulevard, Petersburg, VA with the Rabbi Dennis Beck-Berman officiating. Interment will be in Brith Achim Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Congregation Brith Achim, P.O.
