Benjamin A. Piczak, age 90, of Chester, VA, died on Sunday, December 17, 2006. He was born in Larksville, PA. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburg, and a retired Chemical Engineer with Allied Chemical Corporation (Honeywell), after 39 years of service. He moved to Chesterfield in 1954 with Allied as part of an advanced team of chemical experts overseeing start-up operations for the Fibers Division nylon plant in Chesterfield. Mr. Piczak was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Eileen Piczak, and son Steven Piczak. He is survived by his wife, Caroline K. Piczak; two children, Kari Paseur and husband George of Albuquerque, NM, and Chris Piczak and wife Kathy of Woodbridge, VA; three grandchildren, C. Todd Piczak and wife LeAnn J., Margaret E. Piczak, and Meredith A. Piczak; two great grandchildren, Claire Thomas Piczak and Audrey P. Piczak; one sister, Sylvia Giovannini and brother, Theodore Piczak of PA; and brother, Chester Piczak of Rockville, MD. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Hopewell, VA on Tuesday, December 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Hopewell.
