Benjamin Jerry Rott, Sr., 91, of Petersburg died Sunday, March 16, 2014. Born in Chesterfield, he was the son of the late Henry and Clara Rezba Rott; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Lipchak Rott; three brothers, Henry, Charlie and Stanley; and one sister Betsy. Mr. Rott was a lifelong member of St Joseph Catholic Church and proudly served the community through Knights of Columbus. He was also a United States Army Air Corps Veteran. He is survived by his daughter, Claire A. Lee and her husband, Matthew; two sons Benjamin J. Rott, Jr. and his wife, DeAnne, and Phillip G. Rott and his wife, Carrie; eight grandchildren, Abigail, Jacob, Joshua, Ben, Erich, Gregory, Katelyn, and Stuart; two great-grandchildren, Raphael and Carson; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends during his widowed years, Alyce Griffin and Jerri Godfrey. A Christian Wake service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19th at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at St. Josephs Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Outreach Program, P.O.
