Benjamin Sylvester Skroback, Sr., 85, of Hopewell, VA died Friday, October 23 2009 in Brighter Living Assisted Care. Mr. Skroback was born in Emporia, VA and had been a life long resident of the Hopewell/Prince George area. He was the son of the late Paul and Julia Matcheka Skroback. Mr. Skroback served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion, the Lutheran Church of our Redeemer and a retired pipefitter from Allied Signal/Honeywell Corporation. Mr. Skroback is survived by his wife, Mildred Temple Skroback of Hopewell, a son, Benjamin S. Skroback, Jr. of Chester, VA, a daughter, Cheryl Ann Skroback of Hopewell, a granddaughter, Desiree Ann Wolff of Maitland, Florida, a brother, Stephen Skroback of Alexandria, IN and a sister, Elizabeth S. Chovan of Springfield, OH A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11 am at the mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia with Rev. David Schaffer, pastor of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer officiating. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
