Benjamin James Vaughan, age 69, of Carson, VA, died on Sunday, January 27, 2008, in Emporia, VA. He was born in Sussex, County, VA, the son of the late Earnest E. and Ruth Emory Vaughan. Benjamin was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy F. Vaughan; son, Benjamin James Vaughan, Jr., and step-daughter, Debbie. He was a Mechanic for Concrete Pipe and Products for many years and a long time member of Salem United Methodist Church. Benjamin is survived by a daughter, Angela Hoffman of Sutherland, VA; step-sons, Charles Wolford of Hopewell, Mike Wolford of Sussex Co., Richard Wolford of Sussex Co., and Wally Wolford of Colonial Heights; sisters, Virginia Marianak of Colonial Heights, VA and Lucille Chappell of Dinwiddie, VA; brothers, Thomas, Irving, and Edward Vaughan all of Carson; grandson, Zachary Hoffman; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends at Salem United Methodist Church in Carson on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Funeral services following beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Salem United Methodist Church 19312 Templeton Rd. Carson, VA 23830.
