Bernard Thomas Joswick Jr

Bernard Thomas Joswick, Jr. 84, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard T. Joswick, Sr. and Emily Kaleita Joswick; his loving wife, Margaret Poochie Joswick; and his mother-in-law, Alexandrina Baker. He is survived by his sons, Roger Joswick and Ronnie Joswick (Rhonda); grandchildren, Kristen Joswick Davis (Chris), Amanda Joswick and Brandon Joswick; great granddaughter, Lorelai Davis; special niece, Tina Tuck; brother-in-law, Russell Baker (Mary); special friends, Bubba and Shelby Neal; Scott and Janie Narron; and Leo Velasquez; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Bernard graduated from Hopewell High School where he played baseball. He also played baseball for the American Legion and later in life coached baseball, softball and basketball. He served in the Virginia National Guard and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, and served on the Hopewell Recreation Committee. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Unity Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Unity Baptist Church expansion fund 4951 Mt. Sinai Rd. Prince George, VA 23875 in memory of Bernard.
