Mr. Bernard Lee Parrish, 83, of Chester, Virginia, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at his home of 46 years. Mr. Parrish was born on September 15, 1929, Dundas, Virginia. Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Myrtle Parrish, sister Clara May Parrish and brother James Styles Parrish. Mr. Parrish served his country as a Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force. He was a native Virginian and was employed as Plant Accountant for both Allied Chemical and Solar Optical for 30 years before his retirement. Mr. Parrish was a devoted member of Chester Baptist Church for 46 years, serving in many capacities. He is survived by wife, Beatrice Wooten Parrish, daughter, Susan Davis and husband Ken of Chester, Virginia, beloved grandson, Ronald FaJohn and wife Lisa of Midlothian, Virginia, sister, Elsie Almand and husband Edward of Dundas, Virginia, several nieces and nephews; three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, two brother-in-laws. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at Chester Baptist Church, family will receive friends an hour prior to service, officiating will be Dr. Lloyd Braswell; interment will immediately follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Serving as pall bearers will be Ronald A. FaJohn, Ronald D. FaJohn, Jason Davis, Morris Cumbie, David Fitzgerald and Eldridge Brock.
