Bernice Ellis

Bernice Felts Ellis, 94, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Born in Smithfield on October 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Georgie Felts. She was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends of Wakefield.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband, Benjamin F. Ellis, Jr.; her son, Brian David Eyler, Sr.; her sister, Edna Felts Myers and husband, Luther; and her grandson, Brian David Eyler, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Felts and her sister, Louise Jones.
The family will receive friends at the Wakefield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Wakefield Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Kerr officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will then follow at St. Lukes Cemetery in Smithfield at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com .
