Bernice Hawks

Bernice T. Hawks, 92, of Ettrick, died Sunday April 4, 2004. She was a native of Ettrick, the daughter of the late Edward F. and Lizzie Kennedy Hawks. Miss Hawks was a lifelong member of Ettrick United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer for over fifty years and was a member of the Jackson-Smart Bible Class. She was retired from the Virginia Empolyment Commission. She is survived by a niece, Brenda H. Croom (Jesse) of Matoaca; great niece, Linda M. Moore (Charles) of Chesterfield; great nephew James E. “Jim” Croom (Karen) of Chester; great-great nieces, Laura E. and Katie L. Croom of Chester and grear-great nephew, Jonathan E. Croom of Chester. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
