Bertha Elena Williams

Bertha Elena Williams, 91, of Hopewell, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Born in Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John Martin and Elena Belaire Martin; She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Lewis; son-in-law, Chuck; and several siblings. Bertha was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her grand kids, sitting on the front porch watching the cars go by and working on her crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, John Williams; daughter, Pamela Baumgartner and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Martha Rhodes, Dawn Bailey and her fiancé, Gary McCracken, Steven Baumgartner and his wife, Mary, Carla Durante and her husband, Todd, Charity Downs and her husband, James; 17 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
