Bessie Diana Stephens

Bessie Diana Stephens, 65, of Matoaca, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016. Born in South Boston, VA, she was the daughter of the late Toy Lee Lail, Sr. and Gladys Lee Price Radford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gaylon Thurston Stephens. Bessie was a faithful member of Matoaca Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Stephen Logan Stephens, Teresa Stephens Richardson (Wayne), and Robert Thurston Stephens (Maggie); grandchildren, Tyler Ferrell, Makayla Stephens, Jacob Ferrell, and Ariel Stephens; and brother, Toy Lee Lail, Jr. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Matoaca Baptist Church, 6409 River Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803.
