Betty Jo Bishop

Betty Jo Bishop, 93, died on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born to the late Mordie Haskell and Hattie Lee Moses in Ragland, Alabama. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, W. Ross Bishop; and her granddaughter, Stacey Bishop. Betty Jo lived in many places all along the east coast, as her father moved often to work on the railroad. She did eventually settle down in Virginia and raised a beautiful family. She faithfully attended Centralia Presbyterian Church for over 69 years, and could often be found writing and painting in her spare time. She is survived by her children, Susan Blair, Sandra Bishop, and Charles Bishop (Mary); her grandchildren, Carol Bazzichi (Will) and Bruce Wells; and her great-grandchildren, Ross Bazzichi, Josephine Bazzichi, and Zachery Wells. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either St. Judes Children's Hospital or the Richmond Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
