Betty H. Davis, age 78, of Church Road, VA, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel Alexander and Helen King Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert "Bob" Hawkes.

She retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service. She will be remembered most as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sisters, Anne J. Garrett and Sandra J. Beaven (Charles), a daughter, Dee Reed, a daughter Celeste Potts (Calvin), a son Todd Hawkes (Kerri Elder), a grandson Matthew Reed (Leah), a grand-daughter Brittany Sober (Ben), a grand-daughter Lauren Whitt (Chat), a grand-daughter Hannah Jessup (Chris), a grand-daughter Kayla Hawkes, a grand-daughter Allison Potts, a grand-daughter Amanda Hawkes, a grandson Austin Hawkes, a grandson Riley Potts, and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the Trinity Community Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Pennie Foy officiating. The family will accept friends and family in the Church Social Hall following the service.
