Betty Sue Irving, 80, a lifelong resident of Hopewell, widow of Alonza Lewis Irving, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 surrounded with love and support from her family. Born in Isola, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Archie Dalton Hornbeak. She was also preceded in death by her son, Lewis Eugene Irving. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Prince George. Her hobbies included travel, reading, and volunteer work through her church. Mrs. Irving is survived by her daughters, Mary Sue Krout and Billy Webb of Hopewell, Beckie Hanley, and husband Kent of Connecticut; sons, Lewis Parker Irving, and wife Carla, Kenneth M. Irving, and wife Evi of Hopewell; grandchildren, Rachael Carnes, Ladonna Howell, Amy Bailey, Jennifer Holland, Sarah Holland, Austin Irving, James Patrick McCoy, Ciera Irving, Trey Rainwater and; great-grandchildren, Matthew Gregory, Jourdan Gregory, Victoria Frazier, Clay Howell, Sydnei Bailey, Katelyn Howell, Caitlyn Grace Bailey, Cameron Bailey, Patrick McCoy and Erin McCoy; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 26th at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Pastor Chris Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at
