Betty Brown Lord

Betty Brown Lord passed from this earth Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the age of 89. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, she lived most of her adult life in neighboring Chester, VA. For the last 8 months she was a resident at and under the wonderful care of Magnolias of Chesterfield Memory Care facility and Community Care Hospice. Mrs. Lord was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Al Lord, and their son, Sam Lord. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Bill Lord, Carol Hagen (Carson), Pat Hunt (Phil), and Betsy Shelburne (Del); two grandchildren, Chris Hagen and April Aiken (Josh); one great-grandson, Trenton Aiken; and one sister, Kettie Brownwill. Mrs. Lord retired as Director of Food Services for the Chesterfield County School system. She was a member of the Chester church of Christ. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home located, 820 West Broadway Hopewell, VA 23860. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2018, at the funeral home with a service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with John Riley officiating.
