Betty Irving Martz

Betty Irving Shumaker Martz, 84, of Chester, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. She was born in Dillwyn, VA, to the late Percy and Minnie Shumaker; and is now reunited in heaven with her loving husband of 49 years, Allen M. Martz. She is also predeceased by her brother, Bobby S. Shumaker; and sister, Lucy A. Allen. Betty loved spending time with family. She loved God and enjoyed televised services every Sunday morning from Richmond's First Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her loving children, Sandy Martz, Faye Satterwhite (Buddy), Gail Davidson (Whitey), Allen Martz, Jr. (Jill), Tim Martz (Lisa); grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda), Christian, and Jeremy Satterwhite (Bethany), Jeremy and Jordan Martz, Trae (Lisa), Chelsea (Travis), Cody, Joseph, and Linsea Martz; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Penelope, Corbin, and Franchesca Satterwhite, William, Kayleigh, Michael, and Zelda Martz; and her extended loving family.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 1 to 1:50 p.m., at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park.
