Betty Underwood Minter

Betty Underwood Minter, 68, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Born in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Martin. Mrs. Minter had worked for the City of Hopewell in the criminal records department and worked the remainder of her career in retail management. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ron Minter, Sr.; three children, R.L. Minter, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Chris Minter and wife, Samantha and Danyel Scott and fiancé, Mike Bellflower; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Short; a niece, Crystal Short; and a nephew, J.P. Short. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
